Weekly Challenges

Because small additions to our parenting practices can make a real difference and doing things together is more motivating than doing things alone, we offer a Weekly Challenge here at Power of Families. 

Each week, we challenge all the parents in our community to focus on doing one specific and simple thing than can bring more love, joy, order or peace to our homes. It’s so exciting to think of parents all around the world working on the same things at the same time and encouraging their fellow parents to join in!

Here are some of the challenges we’ve done recently:

Six-Second Hugs: Give each family member a daily lingering hug

 

Tuck-In Compliments: Tell your child one thing you appreciated about them that day as you say goodnight

 

Date Night: Go on a fun and different date with your spouse

 

Chore Charts: Set up chore charts for your kids (using our simple template if you wish)

 

One-on-One Time: Do something special with one of your children

 

Discuss Honesty: Use our audio story and discussion guide to talk wtih your kids

 

Model Good Phone Use: Choose one thing to change about how you use your phone from a list of suggested ideas
