This month was a hard month to find books! I am still working on it but wanted to post what I had. I hope you are able to steal away some time with your children to read with them. It’s such a special way to help them learn and also feel your love. I cherish the time I have to read with my children, and boy oh boy they milk that for all it’s worth! But I eat it up as well because how many times during the day can you get little boys to sit still and quietly listen? It’s so precious. That being said, here it is:
George Washington: a Life os Self-Discipline by Anne Todd
1-2-3 Magic for Kids: Helping Your Children Understand the New Rules by Thomas W. Phelan
Keep Your Cool! by Kelly Doudna
Self-Discipline by Connie Colwell Miller
Self-Control by Margaret Kneip
Understood Betsy by Dorothy Fisher Canfield
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis
Self-Discipline by Lucia Raatma
The Giver by Lois Lowry (good read – one of my favorite book of all time)
The Berenstain Bears and Too Much TV by Stan and Jan Berenstain
The Berenstain Bears and Too Much Junk Food by Stan and Jan Berenstain
The Berenstain Bears and the Trouble with Chores by Stan and Jan Berenstain
7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey
Depnendability by Janeen Brady (this is an audiobook wth music)
Alexander’s Amazing Adventures are also wonderful
That’s all I have for now. I hope it’s a good start and that you add lots of suggestions for us. We sure appreciate them. Happy reading!

“Howard B. Wigglebottom Learns Too Much of a Good Thing is Bad,” by Howard Binkow & Susan F. Cornelison. It’s perfect for teaching this value, and it even has a little discussion at the end that you can read/have with your children about discipline and moderation.

Bear Wants More by Karma Wilson
the story of Pooh bear getting caught in Rabbit’s doorway in the original Winnie the Pooh stories by AA Milne (I don’t think we’ll ever tire of that collection!)
The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter
The Further Tale of Peter Rabbit by Emma Thompson
The Spectacular Tale of Peter Rabbit by Emma Thompson
The Cloud Spinner by Michael Catchpool (this book, for the writing and illustrations, are an all-time family favorite)
