As our kids grow up, parenting can become more complicated – and more lonely. Where should we let go? Where should we hold on? How should we hold on? And who can we talk to about the challenging and sometimes heart-wrenching issues we’re facing?
In this week’s epsisode, Saren and two of her dear friends, Tiffany Sowby and Allyson Reynolds, talk openly and honestly about the challenges involved in parenting teenagers and adult children.

Thank you for this wonderful episode. I have 2 teens. Everything you talked about hit home for me. Spending time with them is the key. Even if we only have a few minutes a day. One thing I do is let my son pick a couple of songs for my music list. I listen to what he has downloaded on his phone. He will pick a couple of songs for me. It has taught me to have a open mind about his music. He loves telling me the history and what was going on when the song was made. I also get a update on new rap & hip hop language. :o)

One other thought about talking about struggling with older children is that I want to maintain trust. If I’m sharing their personal problems, then I feel like I’m embarrassing or breaching their trust.

Thank you! My son will be turning 13 soon and this is exactly what I needed.
