Workshop Description: Inside every mom is a living, breathing PERSON! Moms have needs and dreams that need to be taken care of. This workshop will help you embrace your own individuality and your unique potential as a mom as you learn to say no to the things that don’t work for you and your family and create more balance and joy in your life. (adjust to fit which topics you’ll be focusing on)
Workshop Materials:
There are SO many different sub-topics involved in this core curriculum topic! We suggest you start by reading over the full outline provided below and then decide which subtopics will work best based on your interests and knowledge and the length of time you’ll have for your workshop. If you’ll have access to a TV or projector that you can hook up to your laptop, you may want to show a video or two from the video series offered below as an introduction to some of the topics you’ll cover. But remember, the main focus of your workshop should be discussion and interactive learning, not watching videos!
Workshop Outline: Mommy is a Person (Read through this document carefully to help you decide on the length and topics for your workshop – should be used with the Five Facet outline below.)
Five Facet Self-Assessment Handout
Taking Care of the Whole Mom Podcast (For more ideas and examples on the Five-Facet aspect of the Mommy is a Person workshop, this 30 minute podcast is great to listen to as you prepare.)
Powerpoint for Boundaries and Margins Module (can be used as a stand-alone 1-hour workshop or as part of a 3-4 hour comprehensive Mommy is a Person workshop)
Mommy is a Person Videos (These videos feature Saren, April, Shawni, Saydi and Linda Eyre from the April 2011 Retreat. They offer great introductions for many topics that you may wish you include in your presentation plus if you watch the videos yourself, it’ll be a great way to review and prep for your presentation.)
